Topic #4 Memories

I really can't explain how much I enjoyed being here in America. A year and a half has just passed since I got here. In the beginning  I didn't have many friends and felt so lonely. But now I have more than 150 friends who I know them by name.

Everywhere here is beautiful, I had fun in every place I've been. Huntington Beach, Los Angeles, Palm Springs, and many other places. Especially with my friends. As we say: "A heaven without people doesn't worth a penny!".

I liked the American way of life, but it is so stressful. It's hard to have a balanced life here.

Here, I learned to be independent and don't count on others to do my things. Many times people had let me down, and I learned the lesson.

I loved my ESL class and classmates. They were very shy at the start but now, no one can keep them quite. LOL

I'm going to miss all of them and hope to see them one day in their countries.

Finally, I really would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to my wonderful teacher Mrs. Tong. You always inspire me with your kindness and your love to teach. I wish you all the best and hope to see you again.

A try to write about LOVE

Love is about quality not quantity. It's not about how many times you fall in love. It's not about a person that you have a crush for. It's really about the understanding and having a strong relationship before it transforms to love.

When you find someone that understands you the way you are, that supports you in every step and decision you make in your life, that cares about you more than himself, that you feel comfortable with, that you do silly things you never do with anyone else, that you feel there is something amazing between you two that you can't explain what it is! Then you found a real love in your life, even if you don't know that. It's really pure happiness.

And I wish I could have that.

Tpoic #3 Memorable Destination

I've been in the U.S. for 17 months, though until now I haven't visited many places such as: Disneyland, Universal Studios, Las Vegas, and San Francisco! Strange, right?! I'm keeping these places for the best company ;)

On the other hand, I visited many other places like beaches, San Diego, and Los Angeles. But my favorite and most memorable one was my trip to Los Angeles. I went with my friends to hike to Hollywood sign. The day was sunny and beautiful. After 20 minutes of hiking we reached the sign, took many photos. some of them are really funny! :D

Then, we went to the Walk of Fame in Hollywood street. It was amazing to see all these great names close to you. Of course, I took a photo next to my most favorite singer. Can you guess who is he?

After that we went to one of the most famous destinations to eat dinner in Hollywood. It was Hooters restaurant. You have to check it out. ;)

By the end of the day we were so exhausted. But we took a lot of pictures and had a great memory there.

Topic 2 - Someone I admire

I'm going to talk about a special person who I admire. Who is my best friend and the closest person to me. I met this person a year ago, in a goodbye party for one of my friends. The first conversation we had was casual and friendly. But after that we hadn't met for four months. After the four months, we met again somewhere I wont mention and our conversation took another level. I was so amazed that how this young person can be so knowledgable and thoughtful. And how we share a lot of thoughts and favorite things. This person got my whole attention and my admiration started. What makes this person so unique and admirable is a lot of great characters and attitudes.

Topic 1 - Introduction

Hi, my name is Yaser ( ياسر ). I'm from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. One thing special about me is that I'm in love with all kinds of cultures. I love to learn about different cultures and countries. It's amazing how we are so different, yet so alike.  Seeing people from all over the world, getting to know them building a friendship with them is such an overwhelming feeling for me. Since I was a kid, I had a lot of friends from many nationalities. When I'm with them, I try to learn about their culture and act like one of them.

Another thing I like to do, is playing martial arts. Since I know a lot about other cultures, I loved  "Aikido". A Japanese form of self-defense and martial art that uses locks, holds, throws, and the opponent's own movements. The meaning of Aikido can be explained as following: Ai, meaning harmony; ki, meaning spirit or energy; and do; meaning path, system, or way. Hence, Aikido is the way of harmonizing the energy. After years of practicing, now I hold a black belt.

I came to the United States to pursue my dream. That is completing a Masters degree in Management or Human Resources. I've been in the U.S. for a year and 4 months. Studying ESL to improve my English to the level needed for the Masters. I hope this dream comes true in the near future.

Finally, I would like to add my favorite quote by Steven Covey, to have a happy balanced and amazing life, "Live, Love, Learn, and Leave a legacy".
